I’m in full bloom this week with my Nicole Lee Floral clutch and the easiest Kate Spade inspired floral lace top!
Friends, I made it through my first winter here in Washington State, hallelujah,
and I am so down for the upcoming season!
The blooms are on full power, the death of winter is slowly disappearing and the green buds of spring are slowing coming along.
It’s no surprise that I feel inspired and energized with the longer and brighter days!
Then came the Star Floral clutch from Nicole Lee into my life.
Could there be a more beautiful clutch than this? NOPE.
Can you celebrate spring and the beauty that is all around without it? NOPE.
I guess that’s not entirely true, I suppose you could but why would you? ha!
So much to love about this spring necessity…
The flowers right on the hard body case is a dream come true!.
Brunch dates, lunch, dinner, wedding, garden parties, special occasions – this is YOUR bag.
With the strap, without the strap, both options are perfection!
The thing that I fall in love with time and time again with my Nicole Lee bags is the attention to detail,
rose gold, ultra cool snap top, floral details – I AM OBSESSED.
So while I am trying to cope with all this happy, spring perfection in the palm of my hands, literally,
I thought of Kate Spade.
Season after season, this designer is the epitome of wonderfully happy, high fashion!
So when I spotted the most amazing lace top from the designer, it had me at hello!
Except the price, yo, $298, it too much for yours truly.
Lucky for us, I have figured out a way to make this for pennies compared to the original price and here’s the scoop!
You will need:
- Floral Lace, found at most fabric stores,
- Simplicity Pattern 1366, I also used it HERE for my Denim Cropped top
Making the top:
- Directions are pretty easy, follow the pattern instructions except the finishing steps.
- The only alteration I made for this look was the length for this top, I ended the shirt length at the waist line.
I wanted a more cropped top length.
- When it came to finishing and hemming the garment, I wanted a more organic hem,
so I left the edges raw and accented the lace edging by cutting around the floral motif.
- When washing this particular garment, I recommend hand wash and laying flat to dry so it will not disturb the hems.
Easy stuff, right? The pattern is a gem as there are only 3 pattern pieces to work with, I LOVE IT.
Between the lace top or gorgeous floral clutch,
you will be stepping into spring with style!
Thanks for stopping by and have a glamorous day!
