I’ve been sewing and planning my little heart out the last few months in preparation for the Style Show at the Sewing & Stitchery Expo. I was invited last summer to participate in the show next month and I’m excited!! I’ve been keeping it on the down low because, honestly, I’m waiting to get an email saying “Just kidding we changed our minds!” – haha! I’m still such an unknown blogger that it’s soooo exciting to be stand beside some amazing women in the sewing community – don’t tell Melissa Watson, but I own some of her earlier patterns that are almost a decade old!!! I took sewing courses in college with instructors that ranted and raved about the amazingness that is a Palmer/Pletsch pattern. I know how to sew a sleeve placket thanks to Palmer/Pletsch Pattern 4079.

But seriously, this is such a exciting opportunity and I get to meet some amazing women in the sewing community and take a few classes.
It’s gonna be so RAD. Next month is gonna be a gooood month for me, last March was so brutal! I was diagnosed with skin cancer and needed a skin graft and it’s great to be on the other side with good news to share! OH, I am going to Paris next month, too! A few days after the show with my hubby. AND, oh yeah there’s more, everything I am wearing for the show, I am wearing Paris. So yeah…. it’s gonna be a fun month!!!

Vogue V9243. Today’s look is a super fun one and was really inspired by my trip to Paris, with the navy, white and flouncy sleeve. YOU GUYS, this sleeve is everything!! EVERYTHING. It’s practically considered one of my kids. Very easy to sew but a little painful for me, personally, because I like things done fast (free time is hard to come by). I wanted it done forever ago… sort of like having a baby, so excited to love on that bundle of joy but there are some hours of labor and thoughts like, “I will never sew this pattern again (I’m so impatient)” and like just having a baby, as soon as you try on the garment all is forgiven and you love it some much you want more! True story, trust me, I have 4 kids to compare this to – ha! I want to add these sleeve to everything I OWN!!

McCall’s M7415The pants are sooooo great, VERY fast to whip up because there are no side seams, how cool is that?! Additionally, it’s such an easy pattern. Fast and easy, much like my reputation in high school, yet still very classy, not like my reputation in high school…
***please, know I’m kidding… Mom, if you are reading this, I’m being silly**

And on that awkward but hopefully funny last comment, I bid you adieu!

Riva this entire outfit is fire!!! Both the top and pants look like they fit you perfectly. So fierce, love the red accents as well 🙂 I’m sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but you look vivacious as ever. You’re going to kill it at the Style Show!
