Hello daaawwwlings! Today I have an easy Camilla and Marc Rhinestone Earring tutorial and giveaway for you, but first, can we talk about this dress? THIS DRESS. My awesome new friend, Melissa Watson, designed this pattern and I’m obsessed. I made this dress in velvet for New Year’s, HERE, and it flows so beautifully well when you walk – it’s magical. Constantly, I have so many more ideas for this dress. Not to mention, it’s definitely a forgiving silhouette, which is another huuuuge bonus for moi on my more self conscious days. This McCall’s dress, m7407, was a dress I made for the Sew Expo show last month and I used the scuba knit from Nicole Miller’s fabric collection at Joann Fabrics. Typically you wear this dress with a lighter weight fabric but I’m so obsessed with the fullness of this fabric for this particular garment – it gives the hemline LIFE. I have photographed this dress so many times and haven’t loved the shoot until now and to be honest… I’m Riva la Diva, I am picky, and I needed my background to be just as springy as this gorgeous dress! So, I’m quite happy that those blossoming cherry trees in the background jumped on board – the best accessory if you ask me… well, haha, next to jewelry… of course, oh how I love jewelry, especially earrings – one of my easiest accessories! Which brings me to the point of this entire post!
These DIY Camilla and Marc inspired Rhinestone Earrings!!!! They were a perfect companion to my look today and when I spotted them over here in Camilla and Marc’s latest collection, I thought,
WHOA, I NEEEED THESE… hence the extra “E’s”
But being the stay at home, glamorous mother of four gig I currently have going on, my bank account fought with me, AND WON. So, being the earring and ring DIYing junkie that I am, I recreated it, and I have to say… it’s super glam, dolls! The best part? It’s suuper easy!
SO LET”S GET STARTED….
Camilla and Marc Rhinestone Earring Tutorial
You will need:
- Earring post with loop (don’t forget the loop – most important part);
- Blue Moon Rhinestone Chain;
- Blue Moon End Bars;
- Wire cutters;
- Jewelry Pliers
Directions:
- Measure out the desired length of your earrings. I wanted them to dust my shoulderline like the originals,
so I kept them loooog – 18 rhinestones long to exact. The blue moon package will also give you the little fixtures you need to make this rhinestone chain attachable with those clasps.
- FINALLY, yep, 2 steps, girl… attach 3 of those clasps to one of the end bars and then attach rhinestone chains to earring post.
You read that right, it’s a 3 to 1 ratio. After attaching the 3 chains to the end bar, I felt that they were 1 rhinestone too long, so I gave that bunch a single rhinestone trim to each strand on the end bar.
Easy stuff right? So while you plan your next DIY shopping supply trip, checkout these goods over at Crown Jewelry in the mean time! That’s rad you sew a lot of your stuff. Do you sell your creations or just diy for personal use? Love your post and those earrings are adorable!
I’m torn between the Silver Tone Rectangle Drop Fashion Earrings with Crystal, https://www.crownjewelry.com/products/w1372, and the Silver Tone Fashion Necklace with Fuchsia Cord, https://www.crownjewelry.com/collections/necklaces/products/w3415
I am not huge on jewelry. I wear my college class ring, a ring with my sons name on it and diamond stud earrings. I’m not a bold person but I would like to be. I tend to stick with silver too. But this piece… my gosh I want it. It’s beautiful with the rose gold color (I don’t even like gold but I need this in my life) and the sparkle. It would look great on my new tan (from a spray bottle) skin! https://www.crownjewelry.com/collections/necklaces/products/34011
I love all their jewelry but I think my favourite is the gold plated anchor necklace.
