Fall Plaid Parade // A Simple Favor Inspo

What does fall, plaid and the movie, A Simple Favor, have in common? THIS LOOK.

My darling friends, at the moment, my obsession for fall plaid has no end in sight. Zero, zip, nada. And then you thrown in a fun movie and life kinda changes for your fashion wise. Let’s just say, I looooooved the movie A Simple Favor.

It’s a very pretty movie.

  • Fashion: On point
  • French Music: Tres chic
  • Film locations: amazing! The closet scene alone was forth the movie ticket price. Perfection.

Then you throw in lots of sarcasm, cocktails, a murder-suspense story line and it’s all quite fabulous. My dears, I don’t even drink alcohol and I bought 2 new blush coupe glasses, here. Because when you are “in Rome” inspiration-wise, like, it all makes sense. To be honest, I own many long stem glasses. They are like the high heels of cups and I am never one to turn down a fun high heel. I drink liquids and dang it, I will use a gorgeous cup!

But, I’ve digressed…

The movie was fabulous and I obviously needed a vest and slack combo to wear around. And not because I work in the city handling glamorous business deals (I don’t ) but because I’m a woman dang it and I love dressing nice. My high heel example/metaphor up there^^  also applies to my clothing situation. And here we are and I’m gonna show you what I used.

Patterns used:

  • Vest: McCalls M4215 (out of print),
options: Vogue V9138 (the pattern looks outdated but the vest should work – it’s the ONLY one I could find),
  • Pants: McCall’s Palmer Pletsch M6901 (I’ve used this before, here, and it works!)
  • Fabric: it’s from my personal stash, I’ve owned it for yeeeaaaarrrrssssss…!

If you decide to give menswear a try, share it with me on Instagram, @RivaLaDiva and/or give me a shout out on Facebook at Riva La Diva. I would love to hear from you and celebrate with you on your newest creation!

Until then, have a glamorous day, babes!
