DIY Juicy Couture Clutch

Oh my goodness friends,

I have the best tutorial to share today and I been dying all month to share with you for my birthday week!
Have you read my other posts this week?

Anyways, I have been in love with Juicy Couture’s fall collection for so many reasons – one of them being that I can re-create some of their accessories
WITHOUT breaking the bank and not feeding my four babies for the day.

Have you made your own Juicy Couture necklace I showed you last month?

I am so glad so many people have loved and hoping you all will love this next tutorial just the same!
So, like I said, earlier this month I found this Rhinestone Encrusted Lippy Clutch

how have we not made this already??

Anyways…
There are so many ways to make a clutch and you will find 100 tutorials all over the place on Pinterest, so I’m not going to dig deep into sewing a clutch but instead, I’ll focus more on how I recreated this lippy look….

To make this pouch:

option 1 (oh yeah, there’s TWO ways) for my sewers,
    Material list:

  • supplies to make a black leather clutch, can be real or faux,
  • red and magenta felt that you can purchase buy the yard (better quality), I bought the smallest amount I could at JoAnn Fabric,
  • rhinestones
  • glue, I used E6000,
  • print out lip pattern, see below,

Directions:

  1. Find a clutch tutorial that it at your comfort level for sewing.
  2. Next, cut out lips from the felt and pattern pieces,
  3. Before you sew your clutch, place lips on your pattern piece and appliqué the felt lips to one side of you clutch like so….

  4. Then continue to sew you clutch according to pattern instructions.
  5. Once finished, glue rhinestones between the two lips, let it dry completely (according to glue instructions), and you are done! DIY Juicy Couture Clutch

This took me less than an hour to sew and I even squeezed in a conversion with my mother in the middle.

BUT WAIT, there’s more…. say what?!?!

option 2: (for my non-sewers out there, xoxo)
Material list:

  • black leather clutch, can be real or faux, from your favorite store.
  • red and magenta felt that you can purchase buy the yard (better quality), I bought the smallest amount I could at JoAnn’s.
  • rhinestones
  • glue, I used E6000,
  • print out lip pattern, see above for print out,

Directions:

  1. Find a black clutch that you love,
  2. Next, cut out lips from the felt and pattern pieces,
  3. Place lips onto one side of your pouch and glue the felt lips in place,
  4. Finally, glue rhinestones between the two lips, and let it dry completely (according to glue instructions) and you are done!

So easy, right?? haha!

Can you imagine ALL the possibilities that these lips could be on with this technique?!?

The only difference between optional 1 and 2 is the stitching around the lips. THAT’S IT.

So give it a try! This makes a great gift idea for the holidays next month and I am so excited for everyone to try this relatively EASY Juicy Couture knock-off that takes pennies to make… Making mine set me back $10 instead of the $116 found HERE. I even had tons of leftover fabric, so make a bunch with friends or as a cool gift idea.

Thanks for stopping by and have a glamorous day!!
Riva xoxo
